SKOG Aurora Igloos – Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 01.01.2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all reservations, bookings, stays, activities, rentals, and services provided by SKOG Aurora Igloos ("SKOG", "we", "us", "our"). By making a reservation, the guest ("you", "client", "guest") acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions in full, without exception.

These Terms & Conditions are attached to every reservation and override any assumptions related to third-party platforms, customary hospitality practices, or perceived rights to refunds or flexibility.

1. Nature of the Experience

SKOG Aurora Igloos is a remote Arctic accommodation and experience-based destination located in northern Sweden. Guests acknowledge that:

• Weather conditions are extreme and unpredictable
• Nature-based experiences involve inherent risks
• Northern Lights sightings are a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed
• Travel in winter conditions requires preparation, responsibility, and adaptability

By booking with SKOG, guests accept these realities fully.

1.1 Ecological Facilities & Guest Expectations

SKOG Aurora Igloos operates with eco-conscious systems adapted to the Arctic environment.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Waterless toilet systems inside the Aurora igloos

• Natural temperature variations inside the accommodation

These features are clearly part of the experience and do not constitute defects, discomfort, or grounds for complaints, refunds, or compensation.

Guests who are unsure whether this type of accommodation suits their expectations are responsible for reviewing:

• The official SKOG website descriptions

• The FAQ section

• Information provided prior to booking

• Or contacting SKOG directly before making a reservation

No refund will be granted due to dissatisfaction with ecological systems or the natural characteristics of the accommodation.

2. Reservation & Payment Terms

• A deposit or full payment is required to confirm any reservation unless otherwise stated in writing
• A reservation is considered confirmed only once payment has been received
• Prices are fixed at the time of booking and non-negotiable
• Any promotional or exceptional arrangement must be confirmed in writing by SKOG

Failure to complete payment by the stated deadline may result in automatic cancellation without notice.

3. Cancellation Policy (Accommodation)

The following cancellation terms apply strictly, regardless of reason:

• More than 30 days before arrival: cancellation possible according to the conditions stated at the time of booking
• 30 days or less before arrival: 100% of the total stay is non-refundable
• No-shows: 100% charged, no refund
• Early departure: no refund for unused nights

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Illness (including COVID or other medical conditions)
• Travel delays or missed flights
• Weather conditions
• Personal emergencies
• Change of plans
• Misunderstanding of the experience or location

Travel insurance is strongly recommended.

4. Activities, Experiences & Add-ons

• All activities are non-refundable once booked
• Missed activities due to lateness, fatigue, illness, or personal choice are not refunded
• Activities are subject to weather and safety conditions
• SKOG reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel activities for safety reasons

If an activity is canceled by SKOG for safety reasons only, SKOG may offer:

• A reschedule, or
• A full refund for that specific activity only

No compensation beyond the activity price will be provided.

5. Illness, Medical Conditions & Fitness to Travel

Guests are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to travel and participate in winter activities.

• Illness before or during the stay does not justify refunds
• Guests unable to participate due to health conditions are not entitled to compensation, and we reserve the right to relocate the ill group if needed
• SKOG does not provide medical services

Guests with chronic conditions, reduced mobility, pregnancy, or special medical needs must inform SKOG before booking.

6. Guest Conduct & Attitude

Cultural, Religious & Personal Preferences

SKOG respects cultural, religious, and personal beliefs. However, such beliefs do not justify last-minute cancellations, refunds, or compensation.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Refusal of a service due to the gender of staff
• Religious or cultural restrictions regarding physical contact
• Personal discomfort discovered after booking

Guests are responsible for informing SKOG before booking and well in advance of arrival of any requirements related to gender-specific services or religious constraints.

Failure to do so does not entitle the guest to a refund if a service or activity is canceled at the last minute or declined on site.

Once a service (such as a massage or guided activity) has been scheduled and staff allocated, it is considered confirmed and non-refundable, regardless of personal, cultural, or religious objections raised after booking.

SKOG will not tolerate pressure, arguments, or refund demands directed at staff based on such grounds.

6.1 Guest Conduct & Attitude

SKOG maintains a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior.

This includes:

• Aggressive, disrespectful, or abusive behavior
• Harassment of staff or other guests
• Excessive complaints made in bad faith
• Attempts to pressure staff for refunds, discounts, or exceptions

• Ignoring safety instructions

SKOG reserves the right to:

• Terminate a stay immediately

In such cases:

No refund will be issued

• Additional costs or damages will be charged to the guest
